Why I Took a Google Ads Writing Course After Years of Practice

Published December 2024. Last updated July 2026.

I've generated more than 2 000 000 leads using Google Ads. So, why would someone like me buy a course on writing Google Ads?

Recently, I bought Amy Hebdon’s course, Magnetic RSAs. (Just to clarify, I’m not being paid for this review, and I paid full price for the course.)

Amy first introduced me to the concept of repellent ads - ads designed to not attract the wrong clicks. (I've written about this here if you're interested.)

Her out-of-the-box thinking got my attention.

Here’s the thing: I don’t like writing ads.

I’ve never felt particularly skilled at copywriting. For a long time, I relied on a formula to write ads. I even built a tool to automate the process. I'd press a button and I'd get 300 ads.

The formula worked for the older Text ads and Expanded Text Ads. But, it feels outdated for Responsive Search Ads which take up so much more of the screen.

I figured it was time to invest in learning.

What I Liked About the Course

Things I liked:-

  • The course is short and very focussed. I finished it in a couple of hours, even with time for taking notes.
  • It taught a repeatable process for research, coming up with ideas and finally building the ads.
  • It used real-world examples with screenshots of actual ads. She must have spent weeks curating these.
  • It didn't spend much time in the Google Ads interface. A lot of Google Ads training becomes obsolete because the interface changes all the time.

If you write Google Ads for a living - and want to up your game - this course is worth it. You can check it out here.

Most Google Ads Problems Aren't Google Ads Problems
If my writing resonates with you, I'd like to give you a copy of my book, Profitable Google Ads. The book was written for business owners, but many PPC professionals have found it valuable too.
Before you download it, what describes you best?
